Antique Swedish gustavian commode from the first years of the 19th century, around 1810/40 The commode has a classic straight shape which is typical for the period. The legs are original and likewise mirror the commode with a straight and tapered shape with additional decorative flutes. The commode has four drawers and is made by hand in solid Swedish pine.
The black paint has distress and wear which makes the pine underneath shine through in places which further emphasises the lines and details of the piece. Healthy and stable frame. The commode has the original locks but the key is missing. The hardware are later. The interior of the commode is bare wood that has aged naturally and now has a warm patina. The drawers are in working condition. The measurements are taken from the trims of the table top.
