Classic Swedish gustavian chair with the typical straight shape and subtle decor that characterises the period. The chair has a fluted decor along the whole front of the chair as well as the backrest. Each and every rib in the backrest is also decorated with flutes. The chair is from Sweden and made around the late 18th century, circa 1790.
Original faux paint that imitates mahogny. The paint has some distress and patina after time and use. One of the from legs has an old repair – an extension of the legs of about 1 cm. The seat is newly upholstered in handwoven linen fabric. A classic and simple chair with depth of history.
