Drop leaf table in neoclassical style. The table is folk art with a leaf and a drawer in the rim. Decor all around with hand wrought riveted hinges in iron. Painted pine. Untouched original condition with original paint. Natural wear and patina after 250 years that only time can produce. Made in northern Sweden in the province Hälsingland around 1800 to 1810. Healthy and solid frame. The leaf is 68 cm wide and the top 58 cm making the total possible width 126 cm.
The thought from the carpenter was that the drawer should be hidden in the rim and therefore it doesn’t have a lock. The light grey paint was high fashion in Sweden during the late 18th century and a while into the 19th century. That was during the neoclassical period, which also corresponds to the Swedish gustavian era.
