Gustavian bench from the 18th century. The bench or sofa is Swedish gustavian which corresponds to the more international neoclassical period. Made in painted pine with the original paint. The patina is all authentic and natural and a result of almost 250 years of use. The decorations along the back and front are in the typical gustavian / neoclassical style and all made by hand. Later seat with a new padding and new upholstery in linen fabric. Healthy and solid frame. The two legs in the middle are newer and likely replaced. This gustavian bench is from the 18th century, more specifically from the years around 1790 and is made in northern Sweden.
