Swedish gustavian desk from the late 1700s. The rims on the table has a ribbed decor on all four sides. Drawer with original wooden knob.
The table is dry scraped down to the first original paint from the 1700s.
The table has its origin in northern Sweden in a village called Edsbyn.
The table was often called “hat-table” as it was often placed directly inside of the front door and the man of the house would place his hat on the table when he went inside, hence the name.
