Large Dining or Trestle Table from Sweden
Height : 78 cm
Length : 224 cm
Width : 92 cm
Large dining or trestle table from Sweden made during the early 1800, around 1810. The table is unusual with room to seat 10 to 12 people and is originally from the village Mattmar in Jämtland. The table is hand-crafted from Swedish pine and has never been painted or otherwise treated. It’s completely natural wood. The table is entirely hand-made and there’s only one like it in existence – this.
The trestle has subtle detailing with profiling along the sides. Also note the shape and design of the wedge with the decorated edges. The table has a loose table top which can be lifted off and it’s made from only three wide boards of wood. It is an untouched original furniture with authentic patina after 200 years of use. The table top has some minor traces of wear.
