Late 1700s Gustavian Table from Northern Sweden
Height : 76 cm
Length : 108 cm
Width : 69 cm
Late 1700s gustavian table from northern Sweden. The table from 1780 to 1790 and is freestanding with the same decor on all four sides. That means it can favourably be placed anywhere in a space and does not need to stand against a wall. Straight tapered legs and sides with a fluted decor. The legs makes this table especially remarkable. The very thin ends are exceedingly difficult to make and require a skilled craftsman. It’s a small detail but changes the look of the table and making it more elegant and slender.
Made from pine with traces of the original paint. The table has the genuine patina of time and time-worn character. Healthy and solid frame. There are traces of an old repair on the table top – see close up picture. Height to the rim is 59 cm.
