Light Swedish Rococo Cabinet in Pine
Height : 217 cm
Length : 106 cm
Width : 50 cm
Light Swedish rococo cabinet from the late 18th century, around 1790. The cabinet is made in pine in two parts with an upper and lower cabinet respectively. The cabinet has an arched pediment with multiple profiled layers and fluted panels on the doors. With the neutral paint the cabinet would fit in multiple settings and the light tone makes it look even larger than it is while still keeping the surroundings light and airy. Furniture like this was made to last, with attention to detail and skilled craftsmanship that has stood the test of time. Just note the details around the bottom edge and feet as well as underneath the table top.
The exterior is repainted with a light shade of paint. The interior has been dry scraped to remove any paint and has traces of old repairs on the doors. The drawers inside the upper cabinet are later. The upper cabinet also has a working lock and key. The lower cabinet is 89 cm high and 50 cm deep and the upper is 128 cm high and 27 cm deep.
