Mora Clock from Kougsta
Height : 207 cm
More clock from Jämtland dry scraped to original paint from the late 1700s.
This model of clock is very special. It was only made in a small village in northern Sweden, the village is called Kougsta. The shop did interiors for churches but they also had a limited production of clocks. How do you know? The workshop is well documented by the areas museum called Jamtli – google it. They have in their collections of preserved original templates and designs.
This particular clock has a slightly special construction as it’s made in 2 parts. The ring in front of the face is without glass which was the carpenter’s intention from the start. You can tell because there’s no indent for the glass on the inside
The clock comes with the original clockwork, two iron weights and pendulum. The clockwork has not been serviced and is sold as found
