Neoclassic tabouret or stool from the years around 1780 to 1790. The stool is from northern Sweden and made in typical neoclassical fashion. The shape is very unusual and the stool is sure to be a standout piece in any room. The shape is almost like an 8 with a curved front and back while both short ends are straight with 90 degree corners. Generously decorated with hand made ornaments that are characteristic to the era. There are still traces of the original paint which has become naturally patinated and distressed over the last two centuries. The seat is renovated with new padding and new upholstery in linen fabric. This neoclassic tabouret or stool is in good condition with a healthy and solid frame. The more international neoclassical period is equivalent to the Swedish gustavian period.
