Painted gustavian chest in pine from Northern Sweden made during the late 18th century, 1790 to 1800. The chest has all the typical characteristics of a gustavian furniture with straight lines and fine details. Those can be seen in the fluted edges on the side, detailed carved feet and profiled edge of the top.
The chest has the original salmon coloured paint and original hardware in brass that has oxidised over the years. It’s possible to polish the hardware until shiny if so wished. The paint has become distressed over the years and the wood grain underneath shines trough giving the chest warmth and patina.
