Rare Swedish blue cabinet in folk art from around 1820. This type of cabinet was only made and can only be found the county Jämtland in northern Swedish, close to the Norwegian border. Today the area is most known for its ski resorts, most notably Åre. The cabinet is made by hand in solid pine. It has the original blue green paint, almost turquoise, with a rustic surface and some distress and marks after use.
The cabinet is made in two parts. The interior is fitted with shelves and a profiled small shelf at the top with notches for spoons. This was where the nice silver spoons would have been stored and displayed. Original working lock and key. The drawers to the lower cabinet are in working condition. Healthy and solid frame. One of the doors is slightly rounded at the lower edge. The measurements are taken including the pediment.
