Rococo Long Case Clock from Kougsta
Height : 233 cm
Length : 52 cm
Width : 20 cm
Rococo long case clock from Jämtland. Manufactured by the Kougsta carpenters in Häggenås around the turn of the century 1700/1800. Dry scraped to original paint. Carved wooden decor throughout. The skirt is made of one wooden panel but painted in dual colours. It is most likely due to it being painted to match the wall panel in its original household. All Kougsta clocks also have a katthål (cat-hole) at the right bottom corner – likely to give access to the weights if they’re on the clock’s bottom.
The clock comes with the original clockwork, two iron weights and pendulum. The clockwork is not serviced and is sold as found.
