Small Folk Art Table with Authentic Patina
Art.nr: 1840
Height : 65 cm
Length : 85 cm
Width : 56 cm
Small folk art table from northern Sweden with a hand carved year 1778, initials and house mark. The table is a charming folk art furniture with a simple construction and patina of time. It’s unusual to see dating and markings on these kinds of furniture. The table is made in pine and has never been painted which means it has the authentic patina after 250 years of use.
An unusual detail is the rotating feature underneath the table top. It was most likely used to roll up yarn and textiles. It functions with a hand made cog wheel and lever in wood. The table top consist of two large boards of wood where the widest one is 35 cm wide. The table would work well as a coffee table or side table, or why not a nightstand.
