Country cabinet in gustavian style from Hälsingland in Sweden. Made during the late 1700s, between 1790 and 1800, in pine. Double doors with ribbed decor and interior shelves. Original paint since the late 1700s. The cabinet is in untouched original condition with natural distress and patina, with the exception of the crown which is later and likely from the 1900s. Never painted interior. One of the previous owners spilled tar inside sometime during the 1800s – see pictures. That means that today there is a faint smell of tar inside the cabinet. Original hardware and lock mechanism in hand wrought iron.
