Folk art sofa or bench from northern Sweden with the dating 1855. The sofa is charming and unusually short with hand carved wooden decorations. Made in pine with the untouched original red paint including decoration and accent paint with the dating on the back rest. Good vintage condition consistent with age and with some traces of use. For example the paint is worn on the armrests. New seat and cushions upholstered in linen fabric. Storage underneath the seat. Healthy and stable with some minor loss of material on the back left post – see picture.
