Swedish black soldier’s chest from J\u00e4rvs\u00f6 in H\u00e4lsingland. Made around 1820 to 1840 the solider would keep their private effects in chests such as this. Original paint and working original lock and key. Great authentic patina. It is unusual see chests painted this colour so this is one of the rare black ones. Hand wrought key plate in iron in the shape of a heart. Healthy and solid frame. The chest would work well as a coffee table or side table as well as storage.<\/p>\n
