Swedish folk art box in pine with carved wooden decor. It’s rare to find these objects decorated, they are mainly expendables and frequently used. That indicated this box is from a wealthy household were it’s been a container for flour. The box is freestanding but is also easy to put it on a wall. Branded on the back with ‘E E’ which is likely the first owners initials. Made in northern Sweden in the province Norrbotten around 1820 to 1840. The total height is 41 cm while the slanted lid is 19 cm up at the front.
