Swedish Folk Art Long Case Clock in Rococo
Height : 230 cm
Length : 55 cm
Width : 25 cm
Swedish folk art long case clock in rococo from Jämtland. Dry scraped to the first layer of paint from the late 1700s. The clock is manufactured to stand against a wall panel and the lower part therefore doesn’t stand completely against the wall. There’s around 1 cm that differs – see pictures. Regarding the hole on the skirts left side, that is typical for clocks from Jämtland. The reason is to provide access to the pendulums when they were at their lowest point. The hole can be both round or square like in this case. The clock is from around the 1780’s.
The clock comes with the original clockwork, two iron weights and pendulum. The clockwork has not been serviced and is sold as found
