Swedish neoclassical side table with characteristic straight legs decorated with a fluted decor. The table is from northern Sweden and made around 1790. The late 1700s was the Swedish gustavian era but the period is in line to the more international term ‘neoclassical’. This side table or desk is therefor both gustavian and neoclassical.
Hand carved wooden decor and drawer with the original wooden knobs. Made from painted pine. The leg frame has a later layer of distressed paint while the table top has traces of the original decorative painting. Healthy and solid frame. Height to rim is 58 cm.
