Antique dining or work table from northern Sweden. The table is a genuine Swedish country house furniture from the 1840s to 1850s. The table is a trestle table with a solid table top on a leg frame. Good height and measurements for a dining table with room for 4 to 8 people. The table is made in pine with original blue grey paint. The paint has distress and traces of use. The surface of the table top has never been painted or otherwise treated. The wood has lightened and is very smooth after many years of use and wiping it down.

Additionally, an unusual detail is the small trim around the edge of the table top which is only seen on tables from northern Sweden and Jämtland. Occasionally the table was used for baking bread and the small edge is to prevent the flour from falling off the table. Note the little opening on one of the short ends, that is where the left over flour was brushed away. There is a smaller loss of material on one of the legs underneath the table top – see picture. Height to the table top is 76 cm and the trim is another 2.5 cm.
