Primitive and rustic Kubbstol from Sweden. A kubbstol is a primitive chair made of a single large piece of wood. This pine log has been hollowed out to form the seat and space underneath. The chair is folk art with old and naturally patinated paint which has become distressed due to age and use. There are also a dating and monogram on the back, ‘LES’ and ‘1839’. Small traces of decoration paint in the form of flowers. Healthy and solid frame but with some minor dry cracks.
