Rare large rococo cabinet from northern Sweden made during the last decades of the 18th century, around 1780 to 1790. The cabinet is made in Swedish pine in two parts with traces of the original blue paint. The paint has significant distress. The wood underneath shines through the paint in places which creates the unique patina. The cabinet has an elegant arched pediment and an attractive clean inside.
The doors open up to multiple shelves and a curved spoon shelf at the top. The interior has never been painted and has the natural warm patina of aged wood. The cabinet has the original key which is still in functional condition. The lower cabinet is made with three drawers and two of the drawers are missing the lock. The cabinet is made by hand into a stately antique which is both well-made and solid with healthy wood.
