Swedish antique country secretary desk from the empire period. Made in northern Sweden around 1840 with original untouched faux paint, an 19th century painter’s free interpretation of mahogany. Desk interior with small drawers. Original lock and key as well as original drawer pulls in brass. The secretary has a healthy and stable frame that shows the history of the piece with minor loss of paint and marks. The width and depth are measured from the widest point, the trim around the table top. Height to the desk top when extended is 78 cm.
