Antique Swedish hand-woven rug in folk art from the turn of the century 1800 to 1900s. The rug is from Delsbo in Hälsingland in Sweden and has been on the same farm since it was made. These rugs, also known as rag rugs, are made from multiple different fabrics that are then woven together by hand. This one has a slightly unusual colour combination with black and dark blue. It has also never been used. How can you tell? By looking at the fringes at the ends of the rug, the fringes are usually where wear is the most visible and these are like new. The rug can be washed in a machine at 30 degrees C on a gentle program.
