Charming folk art chair made in Sweden during the early 1800s. This antique chair is made by hand in solid pine around 1830 – the most classic of all Swedish folk art chairs. The model and execution has its roots in the baroque period and have remained in the country households for centuries. This chair is in its original condition with the first, original layer of paint. A fun and slightly unusual detail is the storage underneath the seat. Healthy and stable frame that shows its age and history with distress, marks and authentic patina from use. The seat measures 33 cm deep.
