Country house empire sideboard from Sweden. The sideboard is from 1820 to 1840 and made in pine. It’s an unusual model with a balustrade around the back and sides of the sideboard, painted in blue original paint. The whole sideboard is in untouched condition with the original blue, yellow and white paint. The contrasting colours of the sideboard highlights the detailed woodwork and hand-carved shapes. It’s an unusual colour combination to see, especially such a vibrant one, but it makes the sideboard even more special and unique. The colours may call for a bold choice but it will draw the eye of anyone that sees it, regardless if it’s the first or hundredth time.
The sideboard has the original drawer pulls in brass. The inside is wood bare and has a warm patina of time where the wood has been left alone to age naturally. Healthy and solid frame with authentic patina after 200 years of use. the sideboard is 126 cm high to the table top and the balustrade is another 11 cm.
