Hand-crafted folk art barrel made around the mid 19th century, circa 1840 to 1850. The barrel is Swedish, made of pine and is in untouched original condition. The pine has traces of the original red paint. The barrel has the original lid still intact as well.
The barrel is a charming piece of history that has survived almost 200 years with all the patina that follows. Today it could make an excellent table, flower pot or pure decoration. Or why not extra storage for blankets or pillows? The bottom inside has some discolouration. Height to the lid is circa 60 cm and up to the handles it’s 67 cm.
