Swedish country secretary desk in gustavian style from around 1850. Beautiful and genuine country furniture made by hand in solid pine in northern Sweden. The piece is made in a classic gustavian style with a straight shape, elegant corners decorated with flutes and tall tapered legs. The secretary has a practical writing desk which opens to a charming interior with small drawers for letters and smaller items.

The lower section is fronted by double doors and offers plenty of storage. Original working lock and key as well as original hardware. The surface has a beautiful historic paint with a patinated finish which is partially distressed from time so the pine underneath shows through. The frame is healthy and stable. A timeless and decorative furniture which fits just as well in a classic home as a modern environment. Height to the table top is 122 cm and the trim is another 6 cm. The frame itself measures 118 by 46 cm and including the trim work it measures 122 by 51 cm. Height to the desk is 89.5 cm.
