Antique long case clock from Alfta, Hälsingland in Sweden from around 1810. Made by hand in the transition period between rococo and neoclassic, the neoclassical period which is known in Sweden as the gustavian period. Curved rococo shape and classic gustavian decor with hand carved flutes in wood. Original paint which is worn and distressed and shows the age and history of the clock. Healthy and stable frame made by hand in solid pine.
The mechanism come with the original clockwork, weights and pendulum. The mechanism has been serviced and was working at the time the photographs were taken however we do not leave any guarantees on the future function. The clock is sold as an interior design item – not a timekeeper. The width and depth measurements are taken from the base of the clock. The frame itself measures 207 cm tall with the top decoration measuring another 16 cm, total height 223 cm.
