Gustavian long case clock from Sweden made during the late 1700s. Unusual straight column-shaped case with the classic gustavian ribbed decor. The clock was made in Stockholm during the late 1700s and the clock face is signed “Stockholm”. Dry scraped by hand down to the original first layer of paint. The paint has distress and patina with some marks of use.
The clock mechanism was working at the time the photographs were taken but we leave no guarantee on the future function. Smaller old repairs on the back of the case at the top, see picture. Nothing that affects the function. The clock measures 53 by 26 cm at the base. The case is 212 cm tall with the top decoration measuring another 13 cm making the total height 225 cm.
