Large antique gustavian sideboard from the late 1700s. This country house furniture has its origin in the area surrounding Ljusdal in northern Sweden. Made by hand in solid pine in classic gustavian style with straight shapes and fluted doors. The sideboard is in its original condition with the original first layer of paint which shows the history through distress and patina as well as traces of use. In some areas the paint is worn completely through and the pine wood underneath is visible.

Later lock and key from the early 1900s and an old key plate in solid brass. The old original keyhole is still there, see pictures. One door shows signs of earlier repairs, especially on the inside. The sideboard originally had a trim around the back and sides of the table top but that is now missing. The interior has shelves and cubbies and has never been painted. Healthy and stable frame. A sign of the high quality can be seen in the wide boards making up the back.
