Rare antique rococo cabinet with a clock and secretary desk from the 19th century. Made by hand in Arbrå in northern Sweden with a frame in solid pine, around 1820. The cabinet is made in one piece.
During the early 1800s this type of furniture was a proper symbol of status which showed the wealth and prosperity of the household. The combination of a cabinet with a secretary desk as well as a clock. Original paint with minor marks, distress and traces of wear from the history. Original and functional locks and keys.
The clock comes with the original mechanism which is original to the cabinet and has been there since the start. The mechanism is serviced and was working at the time the photographs were taken however we want to be clear that we leave no guarantee on the function of the clock mechanism.
The upper cabinet pediment measures 113 by 28 cm. The depth of the cabinet is 53 and 24.5 cm respectively for the lower and upper cabinet. Height to the writing desk is circa 70 cm.
