Country house chest of drawers from Sweden in gustavian style. The chest of drawers is a Swedish country house furniture from between 1820 and 1830. Made in the classic gustavian straight shape with four drawers. A gustavian chest of drawers is a timeless piece that effortlessly combines steadfast function with interior design. The genuine antique character of this chest can’t be mistaken and is the unique result of old Swedish craftsmanship and 200 years of patina.
The chest is in original untouched condition with the original faux paint. The table top is marbled with shades of blue. Together with the deeper red this creates a strong contrast that enhances the tones and shifts in the paint separately and together, making the chest more dynamic and inviting. The chest has unusually shaped legs. And as a fun detail, they are painted with the same blue marbling as the top. Original brass hardware that has slightly darkened as a sign of time. Healthy and stable frame with functional drawers. The paint has minor traces of use.
